Gum disease, decay and bad breath are all a consequence of poor hygiene as well as poor diet.
After creating a beautiful smile it would be a shame to ruin it because of gum recession or maybe lose a tooth due to loss of bone support, all due to poor oral hygiene.
Hygiene is of utmost importance and you should follow this regime even if you have not undergone treatment.
How to brush your teeth
This should be done at least twice a day with fluoridated toothpaste. However, the right toothpaste is not enough, the correct technique is also essential for really clean teeth.
How to clean your tongue
This is an important daily routine as bacteria that cause bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease harbour on the surface of the tongue.
Tongue cleaners can be used to remove this type of bacteria.
How to floss correctly
Unfortunately brushing alone will not remove debris from in between the teeth. Flossing is thus an essential part of hygiene maintenance and needs to be carried out thoroughly at least 3 times a week.
People find it awkward at first but it becomes easier with practice and the difference it makes is huge. Your teeth and gums will feel and look healthier and you will also have fresher breath. The reason why most people find it difficult is because they use the wrong technique. We hope these instructions will help and give you no future excuses.
