Dr. Eugene Marais

Dr Eugene Marais qualified in dentistry at the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 1988.
In 1994 his interest in implant treatments started, firstly completing the Misch Implant Institutes (MII) prosthetic course in Michigan USA and then the MII surgical course in 1995 in Pittsburgh USA. Shortly after he completed the MII advanced bone grafting course to include ridge augmentation and sinus lifts.
To date, Dr Marais has placed around 7000 implants, with a failure rate of less than 1% and performed over 600 sinus lifts.
In 2009 Dr Marais was awarded Diplomate status of the ICOI, the largest international implant forum.
Dr Marais is the president of the British Academy of Dental Implantology, the was UK clinical advisor for Biohorizons, the dental implants company and he also ran the Tipton Training Limited surgical training programme until 2013.
He can also offer the very popular “teeth in a day” implant treatment.
Dr Marais enjoys implant dentistry and is eager to educate the public about the need for implant dentistry to improve the quality of life.
